New York and Connecticut Veterinary Dermatologist

Nina Shoulberg, DVM, MS, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Dermatology

After graduating cum laude from Cornell University in 1978, Dr. Nina Shoulberg received a Masters degree in Immunology from Purdue University in 1980. She then attended the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, graduating in 1984.

Her career path next took her through an internship in general medicine and surgery from the Animal Medical Center in 1985, before moving into private practice for three years in Westchester, New York. Her return to the Animal Medical Center allowed her to complete a two-year residency in Veterinary Dermatology in 1990.

Dr. Shoulberg is board-certified and has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology since 1991. Dr. Shoulberg is recognized as one of the “Best Vets” in Westchester Magazine for 2010, 2011, and 2012.  She was previously recognized as one of the “Best Vets” in New York Magazine for 2002.

Over the last two decades, Dr. Shoulberg has treated countless patients in Westchester, New York and Norwalk, Connecticut. In addition, Dr. Shoulberg has authored numerous scientific articles and lectured nationally.

Dr. Shoulberg is married with two children and has two dogs and two cats.  She enjoys doing agility with her Shetland sheepdog and is trying to graduate from the class Good Manners 1with her 6-month-old golden retriever!

New York and Connecticut Veterinary Dermatologist

Lauren Pinchbeck, DVM, MS, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Pinchbeck graduated from Princeton University in 1993 and earned doctor of veterinary medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She completed an internship in small animal emergency, medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT in 2003. She returned to The Ohio State University and completed a residency in dermatology in 2006 and concurrently earned a Masters of Science degree in veterinary clinical sciences. Dr. Pinchbeck became board-certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2006. In that same year, she founded the dermatology service at South Texas Veterinary Specialists in San Antonio, TX. She spent five years there before moving to CT with her family and partnering with Nina Shoulberg to establish Northeast Veterinary Dermatology Specialists.

In 2006 and 2007, Dr. Pinchbeck received an American College of Veterinary Dermatology Research Award in Basic Science and the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians Resident Award. Her previous research focus involved staphylococcal skin infections in dogs and her current clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of otitis media, autoimmune skin diseases and canine atopic dermatitis. Dr. Pinchbeck values the relationships she has with referring veterinarians, their hospital teams, clients and pets and enjoys the collaboration required to deliver comprehensive care to dermatology patients. Pinchbeck continues to lecture regionally and nationally and provide continuing education for veterinarians and technicians on pertinent topics in veterinary dermatology.

Dr. Pinchbeck lives with her two retired racing Greyhounds “Skoot” and “Krafty”and family in CT. She enjoys running, swimming and hiking in her free time.
